What kind of classes will I be certified to teach? We guarantee that after you have completed a 200YTT with us, you will be confident enough to teach an entire 60-minute Vinyasa beginner class. We want our students to teach each other very early in the training, on the second day. This puts everyone at ease when they find out that teaching is not that frightening after all.

I do not want to be a yoga teacher, I just want to deepen my practice, can I still apply?Yes you can! In an ideal world, everyone should be able to dedicate one month of their life every ten years to explore the new layers. Not everyone wants to become a yoga teacher. Our courses are designed for those looking to immerse themselves in a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual transformation through the lens of yoga. Even if teaching is not your goal, you will dive deeper into your practice, share a unique transformational experience and be supported by like-minded people. However, as it is a teacher training course, the curriculum is geared towards teaching, and all trainees are expected to achieve learning outcomes regardless of personal goals. Our TTC is not a retreat. For more information on our retreats, please see our retreat pages.

Is a visa required for this course?Yes! The rules and regulations of international travel require you to have a visa. Some countries do not need a visa. Check with the Indian Embassy in your country if you need a visa. India’s visa policy is not as strict as in other countries. A tourist visa will suit you, as the course duration is not long. Please make sure your visa covers the course period. Be careful.

What yoga clothes do I need to bring with me?Comfortable and appropriate yoga wear. In your free time, we suggest you bring light, loose clothes, preferably cotton material. You may want to get a light jumper for the early morning or the occasional breezy evening; however, they are rarely used. We suggest that you respect Indian culture by dressing appropriately, especially if you are planning to travel to North India. Goa, however, is more relaxed, and you can wear what you wish (within reason) without any fuss. Swimsuits and bikinis are acceptable, but no topless sunbathing is allowed. There are also laundry services available throughout the course.
-
Do I need to bring white clothes? Please bring something white to wear for your Graduation Ceremony. This is tradition. There will be heaps of opportunities for photographs on this day and it looks really special if everyone is in white. if you do not have anything white bring something light coloured and it should be fine.
-
Do I have to take my own yoga mat?We recommend you to bring your own personal, good quality yoga mat and we also have yoga mats for you to use. However, different varieties of Yoga mats are available to purchase near our yoga school, for approx. 400-500 INR, but these mats, most often get destroyed with a month and are not very eco-friendly.

Please contact us before the course if you wish to stay extra night before or after the course. According to available we may be able to accommodate your request.

How do reach the retreat centre in Goa?Goa has an international airport called Dabolim Goa International Airport, so you can fly straight into Goa with a direct or connecting flight. Also Goa has easy access with trains and bus if you are familiar with travel within India. As a first time traveller we would always recommend flying into Goa. Regardless of your arrival time, airports or train terminal transfers at extra cost. We've got you!

How much work should I expect outside of scheduled class time?On average students spend around 5 hours a week on readings, journaling, and other projects for YTT. We wholeheartedly believe that students who are able to fully dedicate themselves to the commitment of time, energy, and internal reflection receive the most in return from the process.

How much yoga experience do I need to be able to do a Teacher Training? It’s always good if you have some previous experience in yoga practice. This course is a big commitment (time, money, emotional and physical involvement), and having some experience will give you a taste of what to expect. A TTC is the foundation to guide you internally and externally in your practice and teaching. Remember that it is not about the quantity of time you spend in your practice; it’s about the “quality”.
-
How much homework will I have? You will have approximately 1.5 hours of homework per night (this will be at the discretion of your teachers and dependent on individual and group needs). You will have three written assignments to complete and group work on sequencing, anatomy etc. This is an intensive training and students must be prepared to invest in their education experience outside of class hours. Students are required to display a high level of commitment and discipline in relation to study, which ensures our standards as a training institute are maintained. Our team is always available to assist students with extra tuition and study plans.
-
Is there an exam at the end?Trainees are assessed for competency throughout the training period through written and practical assignments to ensure they meet the training objectives. There are no exams per se; the training assessments are outcome-focused rather than memory recall.
-
How many people are in the class on the course? In each group – a maximum of 12 students. Even though interest in our programs is steadily growing, we consider the quality of education our main task and do not want to sacrifice it. Therefore, we strive to increase the number of groups, not the people in the groups.
-
Do I have to purchase any text books for trainings?Yes, you will be sent a list of text books that you are required to purchase upon approval of your application. These are in addition to the yoga teacher training manual which will be supplied on course commencement.
-
Can I miss classes in the course? You must attend all classes to complete the course as per Yoga Alliance standards. Not attending classes without any valid reason will lead to not being qualified for the course completion. In case you miss some classes due to a medical emergency, like falling sick, our teachers will give you extra assignments for missed classes so that you can cover your course hours to complete the certification. Not attending classes will lead to only being certified as “participated in the course” and not “course completion”.
