Courses taught in English | Yoga Alliance Registered School | Nishiawakura, Okayama
Since 2018, YOGART COLLECTIVE has offered residential yoga teacher trainings in Japan for students who want more than a certificate.
Our trainings are designed for practitioners and teachers who wish to deepen their personal practice, refine their teaching skills, and explore yoga as a living tradition — something that continues beyond the mat and into daily life.
Held in Nishiawakura, a quiet mountain village in Okayama, our Japan trainings combine embodied practice, functional anatomy, yoga philosophy, breathwork, meditation, Ayurveda, and therapeutic approaches to teaching.
Courses are taught in English and held in small groups, creating space for personal mentorship, reflection, community, and integration.

TEACHER TRAINING IN JAPAN
Training in Japan offers a unique environment for practice and self-study.
The rhythm of the seasons, the simplicity of village life, the attention to detail, and the quiet relationship with nature all support a deeper kind of learning. Here, yoga is not separated from daily life. Practice, food, rest, study, walking, silence, and community become part of the same process.
Japan’s relationship with mindfulness, ritual, craftsmanship, and seasonal awareness naturally resonates with yogic principles. For many students, studying here becomes an opportunity to slow down, observe more clearly, and reconnect with what truly matters — as a practitioner, a teacher, and a human being.
Acceptance
"Acceptance requires us to have some gratitude for where we are in terms of our own development.
You get to motivate yourself to remain open, instead of shutting down or blaming yourself or others
when difficult situations occur."
Dr David Daniels
OUR APPROACH TO YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
At YOGĀRT COLLECTIVE, our Yoga Teacher Trainings in Japan are designed for curious, committed practitioners who are ready to deepen their practice, refine their teaching, and grow through honest self-inquiry.
We do not train teachers to repeat fixed methods or teach from performance. We support students to teach from relationship — with the body, the breath, the nervous system, the person in front of them, and their own lived experience.
Our trainings integrate therapeutic yoga, functional anatomy, embodied alignment, breathwork, meditation, Ayurveda, seasonal living, yoga philosophy, intelligent sequencing, supervised practice, feedback, and personal mentorship.
Studying in Japan adds a unique layer to this journey. Living and learning in a different culture, close to nature and away from familiar routines, creates space for resilience, adaptability, observation, and meaningful personal growth.
The aim is not only to become a more confident yoga teacher, but to become a more attentive practitioner — able to share yoga with clarity, care, integrity, and an open heart.
YOGĀRT COLLECTIVE is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School. Upon successful completion of your training, you will receive a certificate that can support your Yoga Alliance registration or continuing education, depending on the course.
Yoga Alliance Registered School

Upon successful completion of the relevant training, students receive a certificate that can be used toward Yoga Alliance registration or continuing education, depending on the course.
