ADVANCED YOGA TEACHER TRAINING IN JAPAN
FOR TEACHERS READY TO REFINE THEIR PRACTICE

Our 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Japan is an advanced residential training for yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners who want to deepen their personal practice, refine their teaching skills, and learn to apply yoga therapeutically.

Held in the mountain village of Nishiawakura, Okayama, this Yoga Alliance RYS 300 training brings together therapeutic yoga, Ayurveda, functional anatomy, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, and supervised teaching practice.

This is not a training about collecting more techniques. It is an invitation to slow down, observe more clearly, and learn how to teach from relationship — with the body, the breath, the nervous system, the seasons, and the person in front of you.

Limited to 6 participants for personal mentorship and individual support.

This 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed for yoga teachers and committed practitioners who want to:

  • deepen their personal sadhana and self-practice

  • move beyond fixed sequences and teach with greater intelligence

  • understand therapeutic yoga through anatomy, Ayurveda, breath, and nervous system awareness

  • adapt practices for different bodies, needs, energy levels, and life stages

  • explore one-to-one yoga, private sessions, and client-based work

  • study in a small group with close mentorship and feedback

  • complete an advanced Yoga Alliance RYS 300 training in Japan

300-HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

COMMIT

A 300-Hour Training for Practice, Refinement & Integration

Commit is the guiding theme of this 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Japan.

At this stage of practice, commitment is not about intensity or ambition. It is about returning again and again to what matters: your own sadhana, your capacity to observe clearly, and your ability to teach with care, steadiness, and integrity.

This advanced training invites you to refine your relationship with yoga as a personal practice, a therapeutic tool, and a way of teaching that responds to the person in front of you.

Through small-group study, supervised practice, Ayurveda, functional anatomy, philosophy, breathwork, meditation, and mentorship, you will develop the confidence to adapt yoga for different bodies, needs, energy levels, and life stages.

What is ‘Therapeutic’?

In this advanced yoga teacher training in Japan, therapeutic yoga does not mean diagnosing, fixing, or treating people medically.

It means learning to teach yoga in a way that is appropriate, responsive, and kind.

You will explore how posture, breath, awareness, rest, rhythm, Ayurveda, and self-inquiry can support students with greater sensitivity.

Rather than applying one method to every body, you will learn to ask better questions:

  • What does this person need?

  • What is the intention of the practice?

  • What needs to be stabilised, mobilised, softened, strengthened, or supported?

  • How can yoga become sustainable, personal, and meaningful?

This training strongly emphasises physiology, functional and subtle anatomy, yoga psychology, Ayurveda, and the practical application of yoga in both group classes and one-to-one settings.

Morning practices are generally more dynamic and alignment-based, while afternoon sessions often include restorative yoga, Yin-inspired practice, meditation, Yoga Nidra, discussion, or supervised teaching practice.

Rather than learning isolated techniques or random sequences, students are guided to understand why, when, and how to adapt practice according to intention, body, breath, energy, and context.

you, but as it applies to the one in front of you”

Why a 300-Hour Therapeutic Yoga & Ayurveda Teacher Training with YOGĀRT COLLECTIVE

Small Group Mentorship

We keep our groups intentionally small, with a maximum of 6 participants. This allows for direct support, honest feedback, personal guidance, and space for your individual teaching voice to develop.

Therapeutic Without Being Clinical

Our approach is therapeutic because it is responsive, adaptable, and person-centred. You will learn to observe more clearly, ask better questions, and adapt practice with care — without reducing yoga to symptoms or protocols.

Practical tools for Real Teaching

You will learn to design group classes, private sessions, and therapeutic sequences with clearer intention, stronger observation skills, and more confidence.

Ayurveda as Lived Wisdom

Ayurveda is explored not only as theory, but as a way of understanding rhythm, digestion, energy, season, constitution, lifestyle, and practice design.

Personal Practice as Foundation

This training asks you to return to your own practice. Through daily sadhana, reflection, study, and supervised teaching, you will strengthen the connection between how you practise, how you live, and how you teach.

Our Training Home in Rural Japan

Nokishita Toshokan is our small eco-retreat centre and traditional Japanese guesthouse in Nishiawakura, a quiet mountain village in Okayama Prefecture.

Surrounded by forests, rice fields, mountain air, and the rhythm of village life, it offers a peaceful residential setting for deep study, practice, and integration. Far from the pace of the city, Nokishita Toshokan invites students to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience yoga as a way of living — not only as something practised on the mat.

The house has been carefully renovated to preserve the warmth and character of traditional Japanese architecture while offering the comfort needed for a longer residential training. Students practise and study across three yoga spaces: a fully equipped indoor studio, an open-air shala on the property, and a mountain shala surrounded by nature.

Meals are vegetarian and vegan, inspired by Japanese home cooking, seasonal ingredients, and yogic principles. Food, rest, nature, and community become part of the learning environment.

Depending on the course rhythm, students may also experience forest walks, hiking, evening onsen visits, artisan encounters, and quiet time in nature.

Nokishita Toshokan is not simply a place to stay. It is part of the training itself — a space where yoga can be studied, practised, and lived.
